AICEP - Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade of Portugal is the public entity that promotes the capture of productive investment and the internationalization of the Portuguese economy, promoting the increase in exports and the international expansion of companies, through its offices in Portugal and its external network in around 50 markets.
As a one-stop shop agency, and operating under the aicep Portugal Global brand, AICEP:
- Identifies international business opportunities and advises Portuguese companies on the best way to approach foreign markets, through personalized support and a set of digital channels with specialized information, training programs and business matchmaking services.
- It promotes the development of internationalization processes for Portuguese companies, particularly Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), supporting the creation and development of strategies leading to the expansion of their customer base and local suppliers.
- It welcomes and analyzes national and international investment projects in Portugal, providing personalized advice and information to investors, monitoring all phases of the projects and redirecting them, if necessary, to other entities according to the project profile.
- Promotes the training of young Portuguese talent through the Inov Contacto international internship program, contributing to the internationalization of the Portuguese economy and the notoriety of Portugal's image in the world.
AICEP's subsidiary is aicep Global Parques, the managing body of industrial parks that advises on the best location for investment projects.
AICEP is also a founding member of ETPOA - European Trade Promotion Organizations' Association, an international association that aims to promote the interests of European trade promotion organizations (TPOs) before the European institutions and other competent bodies.
