In Portugal, Bosch has units in Aveiro, Braga and Ovar – part of the Thermotechnology, Automotive Multimedia and Security Systems divisions, respectively. It is also present in Lisbon, with a shared services centre focused on sales, marketing, communication, training, nearshoring services and shared support for HR services to other units in Europe.
The German group has invested heavily in R&D throughout the country, leveraging strategic partnerships with Portuguese universities to recruit the best talent and propel innovation and scientific development.
The company’s representative in Portugal, Carlos Ribas, underlines that Bosch is looking to Portugal “as a country with the capability and competence to develop and invent things”

The products coming out of Bosch’s units in Portugal generated 1.7 billion euros in 2021, which represents a growth of 5% compared to the previous year. The company exports 97% of this value to more than 50 countries.
In 2022, the group announced an additional investment of 100 million euros and the expansion of its Portuguese facilities to increase production, technology and R&D capacity. The goal is to continue investing in Portugal's dynamic R&D ecosystem to support innovation and ensure the sustainable growth of the company's manufacturing activity.
